Cool-cutting hook-and-loop sanding for maximum dust extraction have a ceramic abrasive on a mesh backing. Ceramic self-sharpens faster than other abrasives to remove material quicker. Quicker material removal speeds up the work and keeps the surface cooler, making ceramic a good choice for heat-sensitive metals. Tiny holes in the mesh backing maximizes dust extraction for drywall sanding and other fine dust applications when the sander is connected to a compatible dust collection system.
