This is an original vintage Singer nickel-plated Spotlight Body (commonly called the metal lamp shade) used on early Singer electric Spotlight assemblies.

Although collectors often refer to this part as a lamp shade, Singer’s own parts books identify it as the Spotlight Body, making this the correct historical name for the component.

Originally used as part of Singer’s early machine-mounted electric lighting system, these Spotlight assemblies directed light onto the needle and sewing area while helping reduce eye strain. Singer marketed these lights as part of its transition from treadle machines to electrically powered home sewing machines.
